Its fully dark out. Last time I was outside today was for lunch around 3pm, and it was brief. The whether hasn’t changed much, its still chilly outside, cold enough to make you feel it, but not as cold that you’ll be uncomfortable. I like it when its like this. i don’t have to rush home from the cold, I can just walk an enjoy...

topherchris: Who would have guessed that when you remove Garfield from the Garfield comic strips, the result is an even better comic about schizophrenia, bipolor disorder, and the empty desperation of modern life? I could reblog every single one of these, but I’ll just drop the link on you instead.

Remember in Independence Day when whatshisface-math-guy writes a virus that works on both his apple laptop AND an alien mothership? Bullshit! If real life were like film I’d be able to port wordpress to my toaster using a cat5 cable and a bag of glitter. http://www.drivl.com/posts/view/494

Oscars - Home Stretch
11:01 - The Memory Reel. Always Sad. Tho I don’t know most people. I’m not looking forward to seeing Heath’s Ledger name at the end (cuz we know it’ll be the last one) 11:09 - Best Score goes to Atonement. Movie would have not been the same without that soundtrack. Tho listening to the guy receiving the Oscar needs some public speaking training. 11:11 - Tom Hanks. Love him....
Oscars - 10pm
10:01 - “And this baby goes to”, competition between Nicole Kidman, Jessica Alba and Cate Blanchet on who’s pregnant. Angelina Jolie won. 10:09 - Zoned out. Seriusly lacking on my liveblogging duties… 10:12 - Finally some Elen Page! But she didn’t take it of course. Has anyone even heard of that movie? Le something in rose… ugh whatever. 10:13 - Sounds like...
Oscars - 9pm
One hour down. 3 more to go.
9:07 - Dwane Johnson. Who’s that? Oh yeah, The Rock. He’s presenting special effects. Hope Transformer takes it, it was such a great movie. 9:08 - Nevermind, Golden Compass. 9:10 - Cate Blanchet has a bird wrapped around her head? 9:13 - Best Supporting Actor flashback. Every single famous person, but Tom Cruise. 9:15 - Jennifer Hudson. A one...
Oscars!
Nominees for best movies: Juno, No Country For Old Men, Michael Clayton, There Will Be Blood, Atonement. Prediction Win: No Country For Old Men. Who am I rooting for: Atonement.
8:02 - George Clooney at the Red Carpet. So Hot. So damn hot. 8:04 - Marianne Cotillard: nice scales dress. 8:06 - Laura Linney, nominated for Best Actress. She is so amazing. But I can never forget her in Congo....

Not that I’m even REMOTELY the only one to have anticipated the demise, post-writer’s-strike, of the (irrational) traditional fall tv launches. Still, it’s more fun to chalk it up to my latent psychic abilities ;)
NYC (written last week)
I think I’m in love with this city. There’s something incredibly romantic about it. Probably that I’ve kept it as the mystical-huge-scary city that its rumoured to be. In reality, I’ve realized is big but not overwhelming; its cozy and roomy; its familiar and strange. You grow up seeing it in movies, hearing about these streets in tv shows, learning about its architecture...

“I have to admit after being down in a sub and spending time looking at video feeds from ROV’s, the crazy animals I see from the deep start to become commonplace. That is why the below video is absolutely off the freakin’ hook! Dr. Eric Vetter was in a submersible off the coast of Moloka’i when a 6-gill shark, at an estimated 17ft, swam…”

On my way to work
1st incident.
I get on the subway from Dundas West east. As soon as we get moving the nice soothing automated voice says “Next station is Spadina”. I swear for a minute I thought TTC came out with express trains that don’t stop in between.
2nd incident.
I’m on the subway platform waiting for the transfer train. There are TONS of people standing there. Seemed like the...
